Following Iconic (ICON), revealing that it was subject to an alleged claim by European High Growth Opportunities Securitization Fund, EGHOF, the subsequent criticism by OTT Holdings Limited and the Director’s weak response since the share price of Iconic fell by around 50% from 0.012 pence on 13 January to a new low bid price of 0.006 pence. The stock has since rallied by 23% but is this a dead cat bounce?

I will not take the populist path of kicking Luke just becuase he is down. Firstly he is my friend and I don't abandon pals just because they are not flavour of the month right now and secondly, and more importantly, much of the criticism is pure bollocks by folks who could not run a whelk stall and do not know what they are talking about. A dead cat bounce is that last flicker of life, a brief rally, in the share price of a company that is clearly firmly on its way to the knackers yard. Intelligent Energy (IEH) is a case study - yesterday afternoon saw the final wipeout confirmed but ahead of that some folks were buying the shares insisting that "it will be different this time". It never is.

Two days ago Entu (ENTU) issued a statement which essentially said that its shares were worthless. Yet today the shares have rocketed by 230% to 4.3p. This is the classic dead cat bounce.

Shares in the fraud African Potash (AFPO) made their debut on the ISDX lobster pot today and for some reason have surged on AIM. This is a dead cat bounce. Tomorrow they will be suspended on AIM and a month later booted off the Casino because no Nomad will act for this company - Cantors having given notice on September 7. The reason that no Nomad will act - despite promises from lyin' Chris Cleverley in a recent RNS that he was confident one would - is that Potash issues lies via RNS to get placings away. Thus it is a fraud.

Call it a dead cat bounce. Shares in LGO Energy (LGO) have bounced to 0.5p on news that the bank is not pulling the plug so it is not bust. Yet. Jabba the Hutt, aka David Lenigas, still refuses to saw when he sold most of his shares but it was a good call by Big Dave to get out when he did because the outlook is still grim.
